PA House partners with National Park Service and Flight 93 Memorial on new exhibit for 25th anniversary of 9/11

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives Archives, 628 Irvis Office Building, Capitol Complex, Harrisburg, will be honoring the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks with an exhibit commemorating the 25th anniversary.

The exhibit, featuring items from the National Park Service and Flight 93 Memorial, will be on display in the East Wing Rotunda of the Capitol Complex, Harrisburg, from Aug. 31 to Oct. 27, 2026.

This exhibit will specifically highlight pieces of memorabilia from the Flight 93 site, such as silverware, pieces of plane wreckage, name badges from investigators, and tributes from family members and visitors to the site. Additionally, there will be a display featuring the response from the PA General Assembly outside the Majority Caucus Room near the Main Rotunda of the Capitol Building.

“It has been 25 years since that horrific day in 2001.  The entire country was in shock, including many of us in Pennsylvania.  The PA House of Representatives Archives is honored to work with the National Park Service to exhibit items from the Flight 93 Memorial, some of which have never been on display,” said Jesse Teitelbaum, Director of the PA House Archives. “As time continues to move on, we truly cannot forget the lives cut short.”

The PA Capitol Complex, Commonwealth Avenue, Harrisburg, is open Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:30pm.  For more information about the exhibit, call 717-783-3866.
