Mann Not Running for PA-15

Jennifer MannFormer state Representative Jennifer Mann (D-Lehigh) told PoliticsPA that she will not be running for the 15th Congressional district.  The 15th district will be an open seat next year as incumbent Congressman Charlie Dent (R-Lehigh) is retiring at the end of the term.

“I can be very definitive in saying that I have no intention in running for Congress in the 15th District,” Mann said in an email to PoliticsPA.

“Since leaving the legislature at the end of 2012, I have lead my own consulting firm specializing in business development and growth strategies. I have enjoyed the work and have achieved great success.”

Mann served in the state House from 1999 until 2012, serving as the Caucus Secretary for her last two terms.

Mann took the opportunity to thank Dent for his time in office.

“I will miss Charlie Dent’s dedicated service. His leadership and voice of reason will be missed now more than ever.”

Greg Edwards and Bill Leiner have already declared for the race.  Former Democratic Party Chair T.J. Rooney, Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli, and Bethlehem City Councilman Willie Reynolds are also rumored to be considering bids.
