Fetterman Pays Up After Steelers Fall to Eagles

Sen. John Fetterman settles his Steelers-Eagles bet with Cherelle Parker

One thing you can say about U.S. Senator John Fetterman.

He settles his debts quickly.

After making a side bet with Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker on the outcome of last weekend’s Eagles-Steelers game, Fetterman fulfilled his end of the bargain after his beloved Steel City gridiron squad was bested by Philly’s best, 27-13.

Parker accepted the wager from Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senator from Braddock. Fetterman proposed that a Pittsburgh victory and Parker would wear a Steelers’ hat all day while also proclaiming at City Hall that the western PA convenience store chain, Sheetz, is better than her eastern PA chain, Wawa.

With the Eagles’ victory, Fetterman was made to cast a vote in the Senate chamber wearing an Eagles’ hat and also announcing that, in fact, Wawa is better than Sheetz.

Although there was a decided lack of enthusiasm, the former lineman at Central York High School and Albright College paid off his debt.

For her part, Parker did acknowledge Fetterman’s fulfillment of their bet, thanked him for being a good sport, and said she was thinking of the day when Pennsylvania’s football teams would meet in the Super Bowl.

Then a final dagger. Wait until the end.
