SD-36: Aument Replaces Pileggi on Senate Education Committee

ryan-aumentAfter completing his first year full year in the state’s upper chamber, Ryan Aument has been appointed to join the Senate Education Committee.

Aument will take over Sen. Dominic Pileggi’s position on the committee, as Pileggi transitions to his new job as a Delaware County Court of Common Pleas judge.

“The education committee is an excellent place to shape policies that we need to promote the success of the next generation of young people,” Aument said. “If Pennsylvania can become a leader in strategies that produce a high quality learning environment, we would go a long way in solving many of the problems facing our Commonwealth.”

Aument is no stranger to the state’s education system, and its problems, having previously served on the PA House’s Committee on Education. The Iraq war veteran holds a Bachelor’s Degree in education from Citadel.

“Far too often the debate in education has focused solely on how much we spend,” Aument said. “I want to partner with parents, educators and others who want to transform our current system into a world-class model of success.”

  1. This is such wonderful news. A true gain for our great commonwealth. Ryan should be the next chairman of the education committee. He is the man with solutions to increase educational outcomes for children and understands education is not one size fits all.

  2. This is news? Are we going to cover each senator filling in for each of Pileggi’s committee assignments?
