PA-12: Lee, Patel Release First Campaign Ads

Rep. Summer Lee, Bhavini Patel

The political ad season has come to the airwaves in western Pennsylvania.

The two candidates for the Democratic nomination in the 12th Congressional District race both released their first campaign ads of the 2024 primary election season … and they won’t be the last.

Incumbent Rep. Summer Lee and her campaign launched a new ad across all platforms entitled, “Showing Up and Delivering for All of Us.” The 30-second spot focuses on Lee’s record in her first term in Congress as well as her perfect attendance on votes.

The campaign has allocated nearly $90,000 for placements on Pittsburgh’s four major TV stations for this week and over $336,000 through Election Day on April 23.

“I didn’t come to Congress to listen to lobbyists or CEOs

I did it to give us a voice

Because Western Pennsylvania deserves to be heard in Washington

Someone to build bridges through tragedies

To tackle our most urgent crises

Without missing a single day of work

We delivered over $1.2 billion dollars for our community

While standing up to Republican extremism

To make life better for ALL of us

And we’re just getting started.”

Patel’s campaign released her first television ad, “Bhavini Builds,” which introduces Patel as the principled Democrat in this race and contrasts her positions with Lee.

The Edgewood Borough Councilwomen has bought approximately $40,000 worth of airtime on KDKA, WPXI and WTAE this week.

“The Fern Hollow Bridge collapsed, and President Biden rebuilt it right away

It’s just one reason I was 100% for the Biden Infrastructure Bill

But Summer Lee was not

I’m Bhavini Patel

I approve this message because I’m about strengthening our party, and rebuilding our region

But Summer Lee wants to dismantle the Democratic Party, undermine President Joe Biden,

and even wants to abolish the police

It’s not debatable – it’s documented

I’m Bhavini Patel. In the Trump era, Democrats have to stick together.”
