The Montgomery County Republican Committee has endorsed incumbent Commissioner Bruce Castor (no surprise), and Lower Merion commissioner Jenny Brown.
Brown was the choice of MontCo GOP money man Vahan Gureghian, as detailed in a piece in the Inquirer earlier this month.
Incumbent Jim Matthews, a Republican who broke with his party to forge a political alliance with Democratic Commissioner Joe Hoeffel, has said that he would not seek re-election without the party endorsement.
That settles that.
From the Pottstown Mercury about Jenny Brown:
Jenny Brown, 44, a founding shareholder of Brown & Silbergeld in Bridgeport and a Lower Merion Township commissioner since 2006, said recently she will seek the Republican endorsement for county commissioner in 2011.
“I believe I have the right combination of leadership, vision and experience to re-establish a Republican majority on the board of commissioners that is faithful to principles of low taxes, limited spending and transparent government,” Brown said at a recent news conference at the county courthouse.
